Meat in Prime Rib Roast Recipe is Perfectly Safe--If It's Grassfed!

Hunting for a prime rib roast recipe that's just right?

Great news! A 100% grassfed prime rib roast will not give you Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease (the human form of Mad Cow Disease). The meat is perfectly safe because grassfed animals consume no animal by-products.

Mad Cow Disease apparently spreads when cows are fed infected animal tissues. When a human eats meat from an infected cow, we could get Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease. But not from a 100% grassfed cow. This is especially reassuring now that cases of Mad Cow Disease have been confirmed in both the US and Canada.

Prime Rib Roast Recipe

1 grassfed rib roast

Salt and pepper
Garlic powder

Rub the roast well with seasonings and let stand at room temperature. Place in roasting pan with rib side down. Put in cold oven. Roast for 1 hour at 375°F. Turn off oven until ½ hour before serving. Again turn oven to 375°F for 30 minutes. IMPORTANT: Do not open the oven door from time you put the roast in until ready to eat. Roast will be beautifully brown on the outside and rare on the inside. If a less rare roast is desired, the temperature should remain the same, but the final reheating time may be increased by 10 minutes.

Keep eating beef. And remember, Grassfed--the safest meat in America.

Old Fashioned Prime Rib Roast Recipe

Thaw roast and bring to room temperature. Pre-heat oven to 350°. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Insert meat thermometer into thickest part of roast. As you know, the most accurate readings come when the thermometer is inserted into the thickest part of the roast and not touching any bone. Set the roast on a rack, fat side up, in a roasting pan. Transfer to oven. Roast in oven until the thermometer reads 120° for rare, 140° for medium.

Prime Rib Roast with Interlude

Place seasoned prime rib roast in pre-heated 350° oven for one hour. Turn oven off, leaving the roast in. No need to check it. It won't escape. (This is now your opportunity to do something special, something you've been wanting to do. Read a book, write a letter, phone a friend. Use the time well and consider it a gift from grassfedrecipes.com!)

After your 2 hour interlude, come back to business. Turn oven on, back to 350°. Leave prime rib roast alone until it reaches 120° for rare, 140° for medium or 160° for well-done.

A grassfed prime rib roast recipe tends to be lean and therefore healthy and fast cooking. Don't be gone long!

This prime rib roast recipe works optimally with the newer digital style meat thermometers that you can read outside the oven without opening the oven door.

Keep eating beef. Grassfed--the safest meat in America.
