Trouble Cooking Perfect Steak? One of Best Round Steak Recipes to the Rescue

Cooking perfect steak every time will become second nature with this simple skillet steak recipe. Take the guesswork out of cooking and give yourself the confidence of an established gourmet chef.

Smothered Brother Onion Steak

Ingredients:

1 ½ -2 pound round steak, preferably grassfed
1/4 -1/2 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 Tablespoons oil
1 cup water
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
3 onions, diced

Procedure:

Slice steak into 8-10 portions about ¾ inch thick. Mix flour and pepper and pound into meat using a meat mallet. Pour oil into skillet and heat. Brown meat on both sides, remove and set aside.

Combine all remaining ingredients except onions in heated skillet. Raise heat to a slow boil. Place meat in mixture. Cover with diced onions. Cover skillet and simmer about 1 hour.
