Prepare the onions

Begin by placing the frying pan over a medium-high heat. Add some of the oil and when it's hot add the onions. Stir them around with your tongs. Allow them to cook until soft and brown, stirring occasionally. Then remove them from the pan and place onto a tray. Prepare the steak

Allow the pan to heat up again, then add a little more oil. Add the steak and season it with salt and pepper. Let it cook very briefly, for roughly 30 seconds, just long enough to brown. Turn the slices and cook them for a couple of seconds. Then remove and place them alongside the onions.

Make the sandwich

Open the roll and place the meat inside. Add the Provolone cheese slices, put the fried onions on top of the cheese and close the sandwich.
