Pork and Ground Beef Chili

Ingredients:

1 pound pork sausage
1 pound ground beef
2 16 ounce cans red kidney beans, drained
2 16 ounce cans tomatoes, diced
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 celery stalk, chopped
1 6 ounce can tomato paste
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons chili powder

Procedure:

Brown pork sausage and ground beef in heavy skillet. Drain off any excess fat. (Note: if you used grassfed beef you will find little or no fat. The pork sausage will yield some fat, however.) Put browned meat into crock pot and stir in all the vegetables and spices. Cover and cook or low for 8 to 10 hours.

Makes about 8-10 servings.
